Your Grapevine Advertiser Roadmap

  1. Step 1 · Completed

    Spot Reserved

    Agreement signed and payment received.

  2. Step 2 · Completed

    Ad Request Sent

Your Ad Details Request has already been emailed to you.

  3. Step 3

    Submit Your Details

Send the information requested for your ad, such as your logo, contact information, offer, photos, and other requested materials.

If you’ve already submitted everything, there’s nothing else you need to do right now.

  4. Step 4

    Design

Show Up Local Media creates your advertisement using the information provided, or prepares advertiser-supplied artwork for the mailer.

  5. Step 5

    Your Approval

You’ll have an opportunity to review your advertisement before it goes to print.

  6. Step 6

    Printing

Once the advertisements are finalized, the complete Grapevine mailer goes into production.

  7. Step 7

    USPS Mailing

The Grapevine is prepared and delivered through USPS to the addresses included in that edition.

  8. Step 8

    Mailboxes

The Grapevine begins arriving in the community.

USPS delivery can occur over multiple days, so not every address will necessarily receive the mailer on the exact same day.

  9. Step 9

    Track + Follow Up

This is when you begin watching for calls, website visits, Google searches, messages, leads, and other responses.

After delivery

Your Mailer Hit the Mailboxes. Now What?

Let Your Team Know

Make sure anyone answering your phone, messages, front desk, or customer inquiries knows about the offer appearing in your Grapevine advertisement.

Share It

Take a photo of The Grapevine or your advertisement and share it on your social media.

Caption idea: “[Your community], check your mailbox! We’re featured in this Grapevine edition.”

Ask Every Customer

Do not assume the source based only on where the customer contacted you. The Grapevine may have created the initial awareness even if another platform received the click or call.

How did you hear about us?

Keep Your Copy

Keep at least one copy of your Grapevine for your records, future advertising ideas, photos, social media content, and campaign comparison.

A customer may see your Grapevine advertisement and later:

  • Google your business
  • Visit your website
  • Find your Facebook page
  • Call you
  • Message you
  • Save the mailer for later

Direct Mail Doesn’t Always Work Like a Click

Some customers respond immediately.

Others may see your business several times before they need what you offer.

Someone might place The Grapevine on the counter, save it, Google your business later, remember your name weeks from now, or contact you when the need arises.

That means measuring a direct-mail campaign only by calls received immediately after delivery may miss part of the picture.

Learn more about direct mail advertising

Direct mail can contribute to:

  • Local visibility
  • Brand recognition
  • Website visits
  • Google searches
  • Calls and messages
  • Future purchasing decisions
  • Repeat exposure when advertising consistently

Every campaign and customer journey is different. Direct mail does not promise specific results or a guaranteed return.

5 Ways to Get More From Your Grapevine

  1. 1

Make sure your advertised offer is understood by your staff.

  2. 2

Ask every new customer how they heard about you.

  3. 3

Share your Grapevine appearance on Facebook and Instagram.

  4. 4

Keep your website, Google Business Profile, phone number, and social profiles accurate.

  5. 5

Track responses beyond the first few days after delivery.

The question we want you to ask

“How did you hear about us?”

This simple question is one of the best ways to understand where your customers are discovering you.

Consider keeping a simple tally:

  • Grapevine
  • Google
  • Facebook / Instagram
  • Referral
  • Repeat Customer
  • Other

If someone says Google, you can always ask one more question: “Do you remember where you first saw our name?”
